Starting next year, visitors to Los Angeles will be able to get a true 360-degree view of the city when an observation deck opens at the top of the tallest building on the west side of the US. The US Bank Tower is 72 floors high and offers stunning views over the city. In addition to the observation deck, visitors will be able to enjoy the facilities at the new bar and restaurant.
The building is currently undergoing extensive renovations following its sale to new owners two years ago. The changes include improvements to the facilities throughout the building, which are set to cost around $50 million.
When the building reopens, it will include a rooftop complex on the 69th and 70th floors. The complex, which will be called Skyspace L.A., will be run by the same company that operates the recently opened One World Trade Center observation deck in New York.
For the price of $25 each, tourists who are staying in the luxury rentals within the heart of Los Angeles will have the opportunity to see as far as Santa Catalina Island when the weather is clear. The observation deck should be open to the public by the middle of 2016, and it will operate from 9:00am to midnight every day.
Renowned chef Vartan Abgaryan will run the 71Above restaurant, which will be situated on the 71st floor.
The designers of the renovated building didn’t want to dramatically alter the original concept. The platforms will be glassed in for safety reasons, but this won’t detract from the overall style.
