If you’re hitting the main tourist attractions in London or planning a day at the shops, you’ll be in need of somewhere to stop for a quick drink. Instead of going to one of the big names that you can visit at home, if you’re staying in holiday apartments in the UK’s capital, why not try one of the city’s quirkier cafes?
Grab a bowl of cereal
Cereal Killers in East London sells just what it says it does: cereal. In fact, they have more than 120 types of cereal, 30 milk varieties, and 20 toppings. To give you the perfect retro experience, the café is decorated in a vintage cereal theme.
Play some games
If you fancy challenging your friends or travel companions to a quick board game while you’re having a drink, you need to head to Draughts in East London. They have a fantastic selection of games, with some delicious and cheap food and a great range of alcoholic and soft drinks. On a weekday, you can stay as long as you want, but there is a four-hour limit on weekends.
Head underground
Cahoots in West London is a truly novel idea. The café is housed within an old tube train inside an abandoned underground station, which was also used as an air raid shelter. The staff join in with the post-war theme and there is a very different cocktail menu to choose from. The drinks are even served in a range of odd items from the era, including old milk bottles and Thermos flasks.
