Sydney might not have snow and cold weather, but that doesn’t make it any less festive during the holidays. In fact, it is the perfect time to book one of the luxury rentals and settle down for a proper Aussie Christmas. When you’re in the city during the holiday period, you’ll want to make time to experience some of the festive celebrations.
Go climbing
One of the best experiences in Sydney is climbing the Harbor Bridge. It is actually easier than it looks, and the gradient to reach the top is not too steep. You can even do this on Christmas Day and get amazing views of the surrounding area from 134 meters above sea level.
Get in some sunbathing
When people imagine spending Christmas in Australia, it usually involves sitting on the beach. The main beaches of Coogee and Bondi are popular with tourists, but there are plenty of smaller and less busy ones to explore for those who prefer a slower pace.
Visit Santa Fest
If you want to see Santas of all shapes and sizes, head to Darling Harbor from November 27 through December 24 for Santa Fest. This is a celebration of all things Santa, with free films, a Santa Maze, storytelling, live music and a Santa Express.
Favorite carols
Listening to your favorite carols is the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit. You can hear some of Australia’s best a capella groups perform around the Tree of Light and Laughter in Darling Harbor. The performances take place on various dates in December.
