If you’re looking for the perfect spot to book your next break, you might want to take a look at the latest World Happiness Report. This report looks at 158 countries and places them according to how happy their residents are; this is something that can undoubtedly influence the experiences of tourists to an area.
Denmark
Third on the list of happy countries is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and home of the Kronborg Castle, which became famous in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Basing yourself in one of the many holiday apartments in Copenhagen gives you plenty of opportunities to experience what the country has to offer. You can choose from a number of iconic sites and cultural destinations, such as the Tivoli Gardens, The Little Mermaid statue, or a boat trip down the canal.
Norway
Another Nordic country also made the top five. Norway has a vast and beautiful countryside for you to explore featuring mountains, fjords, and glaciers. The country also makes a great city break destination with a range of accommodation options available in the capital, Oslo. The main attractions include the Viking Ship Museum, Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, and Akershus Fortress.
The Netherlands
This has always been a popular destination in Europe, and it features at number seven on the list. Amsterdam has plenty to keep even the most active of tourists busy. If you fancy some culture, there’s the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum. You can learn something new at the Science Center NEMO, or you can choose to see some of the main city sites on a canal cruise.
