The American Automobile Association (AAA) has listed the destinations they see as global hotspots for American tourists this summer. Many popular resorts in the Caribbean and South America feature heavily on the list. However, there are also a number of entries from Europe, which is particularly cost-effective this year with the value of the dollar almost equal to that of the euro.
Data from the US Office of Travel and Tourism Industries shows that there has been a rise of 2.4 per cent so far this year in the number of Americans who are choosing to visit Europe. The favorable exchange rate means that now is an ideal time to plan your vacation to the continent. According to the AAA list, popular European destinations where Americans are searching for vacation rentals include London, Rome, Dublin, Paris, and Edinburgh.
Other global resorts to feature on the list are Cancun, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Vancouver, and Nassau. There are also a number of American destinations that the AAA believes will be popular this year. These include Orlando, Miami, Tampa Bay, Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach, Honolulu, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
With exchange rates to European destinations in favor of the dollar, many of these vacations are now more affordable than they were in recent years. This makes it the perfect time to visit, allowing you to experience more for your money.
