Many of us only get a few weeks of vacation every year, and we usually want to pack in as much as possible. If you’re like a lot of people, you probably tend to stick to only one country, but what if you could visit more places in a short space of time? If this sounds like a fantastic experience, get your passports ready and try some of these wonderful trips.
The quickest route into Portugal
If you want a speedy way to get to Portugal from Spain, one of the craziest has to be a 2,500-foot zip line. This takes you at a hair-raising 50 miles an hour from Andalucía in Spain straight to Alcoutim in Portugal. The price of the journey even includes a ferry to get you back to Spain.
The three countries of the Pyrenees
The route across the Pyrenees is one of the most stunning in the world. It also enables you to pass through three countries in just half a day: Spain, Andorra and France. You’ll need to book your accommodation in Barcelona and be prepared to set off early. It’s worth it, however, when you get to stop at historic villages, get breathtaking views, and take in two mountain passes.
The tastes of three countries
Further east in Europe, it’s also possible to dine in three countries in just one day. Setting off from a small Croatian town after breakfast, you can drive to Trieste, a beautiful port in Italy, for lunch. After lunch, you can take in the Italian countryside before arriving in Slovenia for dinner.
