Icelandair has announced that they will increase their North American service with an additional route operating out of Chicago O’Hare.

From March 16, 2016, there will be four new weekly flights from Chicago to Iceland. This announcement refers to a year-round operation, with flights departing on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The round-trip service will fly into and out of Keflavik International Airport, which is Icelandair’s main hub.

Bringing Europe closer

This new route will also open up more European destinations for North American passengers. Once in Iceland, passengers will be able to connect with more than 20 airports on the continent, including those in the UK. This new service brings the airline’s total number of North American operations to 15. Other destinations include Boston, Denver, Newark, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

Passengers will be able to fly to Iceland and beyond on a modern Boeing fleet. The service provided includes personal entertainment systems and Wi-Fi availability for passengers in all classes.

As part of the service, Icelandair passengers are able to combine their return flights with a stopover of up to seven nights for no additional cost. With a choice of holiday apartments available in The Windy City, this will open up Chicago to a new generation of tourists. In addition, Iceland’s top destinations will benefit from an increasing number of North American travelers having the opportunity to experience this stunning country.
