The delivery of the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to British Airways will see greater exclusivity for first class passengers, providing them with an enhanced level of service. The first of the new aircraft will arrive in September.
The first passengers to take advantage of the new service could well include vacationers flying to luxury rentals in Delhi from October 25, when the new 787-9 Dreamliner will start flying the London to Delhi route.
The current 787-8 Dreamliner doesn’t provide first class facilities. However, with an additional 20 feet in length, the 787-9 has space for eight first class seats. The new suites in first class were designed specifically for this aircraft using feedback from existing passengers. The suites feature four enhanced storage areas for the convenience of the passengers, including a new ottoman, a personal suiter, and a locker complete with a mirror.
Passengers can also use the state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system. The handset has been redesigned and resembles the style and features of a smartphone for ease of use. Travelers will have the ability to watch something through the handset, such as the flight map, and then use the fixed screen to watch a film or music video.
The 787s are set to become the driving force behind the airline, with a further 41 expected to be delivered. They are British Airways? most technologically advanced planes, providing style and sophistication as well as a smooth and comfortable environment.
