If you love sporting action, the UK is the best place to be this fall as the Rugby World Cup and three NFL games take place in the country. All of these games will be played in close proximity, allowing you to cheer on your favorite teams and see what some of the UK’s top cities have to offer. There will be plenty of time between the sporting events to visit some of the major attractions and tourist sites, providing a great city break.
Rugby World Cup
This international tournament will see 48 matches played between September 19 and October 31. This will provide fans the opportunity to visit 11 different UK cities during the event. The group matches will be played across England and Wales, so you can organize short-term rentals in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Cardiff, and the other host cities. The final will be held at Twickenham in South West London.
Catch some NFL
NFL fans can watch the three matches that are being played at Wembley Stadium in London during October and November. Overseas NFL games have been played at the stadium since 2007, and the sport is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and other parts of Europe. This year, October 4 will see the New York Jets play the Miami Dolphins, with the Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the Buffalo Bills there on October 25. The final game is on November 1, pitting the Kansas City Chiefs against the Detroit Lions.
